As the Editor of the then Norwich Union Insurance's staff magazine, my father often took the photographs for the article himself. Taking me with him on many occasions, it was here that I gained experience in of photo journalism and how to organise and conduct photoshoots to get the best form the day. One example was whilst covering an English Civil war re-enactment as part of an article in the magazine.

My father dressed up to be able to follow 'his authors' unit during the re-enactment days.    The art of combining both a constant look out for pictures, looking what's going on around you and so remaining safe was put to the test Whilst not becoming a distraction to the members of the public who came to see a re-enactment; and not a photographer running around, had to be considered!.
